I just read through my previous blog post (Take My Own Medicine) – and my apologies for coming off as a bit… whiny.
I went to one of the big box stores this afternoon to get some emergency diapers.
Yes, we are still using diapers in the Kim household.
And yes, we are in need of *emergency* diapers, nonetheless. This was the one thing I couldn’t come back home without.
A very good childhood friend passed away this past week. That makes 5 friends and former classmates who are no longer with us.
Gone way too soon. They all are.
But this death hit close to home.
My wife, Amanda, was called in to work a half-day and so I was Mr. Dad this morning. As my friends and I joke, it was my turn to “babysit” my own kid. We’re starting him early, but Andrew (2) loves the library.
So as I take him in through the doors all of the librarians smile and greet him by name. He walks around like he owns the place. I felt like I was watching Norm from Cheers. Nobody knows me, but he’s a rock star there.
As we were checking out the books, the sweet grandmotherly librarian called my son by name and proceeded to praise his wonderful book choices. We smile. It was such a precious moment. Then she sweetly turned back to him and said, “did we bring grandpa with us today?”
I was running a few errands last week. One of the tasks involved picking up some milk from one of our favorite grocery stores: Buehler’s Fresh Foods. I love Buehler’s because it has really good produce, albeit at a higher price. It’s like Giant Eagle Market District, but a lil’ bit more frou-frou. Yameen?
